KUNSTEN - Museum Of Modern Art Aalborg

Experience fantastic art at Kunsten, one of Denmark's architectural gems designed by the world-renowned architect Alvar Aalto. Here, you'll find world-class modern art from both Denmark and abroad – and be sure to bring the kids along. There are plenty of fun activities and creative workshops for both young and old. The museum has extended opening hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with always something extra happening – such as the Summer Lounge with a relaxed atmosphere, live music, street food, talks, and pop-up events

Skagens Kunstmuseer

Art in Denmark's northernmost city. Experience art right where it was created. You can always find the iconic paintings of the Skagen painters, and in 2023, you can visit a special exhibition about Marie Krøyer's visual art, interior design, and furniture. Visit the museum itself, and also stop by the two artist homes, Anchers Hus and Drachmanns Hus.

Frederikshavn Kunstmuseum

The only museum in the Nordic region dedicated to ex-libris art. In the middle of Frederikshavn, you step into a paradise for art and ex-libris enthusiasts. The museum features changing, exciting exhibitions and the world's largest collection of ex-libris, which are often artistic bookplates – a total of 250,000 original pieces.

Kappelborg is Skagen's cultural hub – full of possibilities for all ages. Come inside and find, among other things, a library, cinema, exhibition hall, and events in music, theater, and lectures.

Nordjyske Museer

Visit the burial ground at Lindholm Høje, where the numerous stone settings mark almost 700 graves. Continue to the Viking Museum, where you can learn more about Viking life and antiquity in the area. You can also join a city tour focusing on topics such as the Middle Ages, witches, or the plague and get answers to all sorts of questions about Aalborg's past.

Nordjyllands Kystmuseum

Nordjyllands Kystmuseum consists of four fantastic museums: Experience maritime history in Bangsbo, learn everything about the lives of Skagen's fishermen, hear about the medieval town of Sæby, and explore the bunkers in Frederikshavn.

Koldkrigsmuseet REGAN Vest

Visit the secret bunker. The atom-proof bunker Regan Vest was secretly built in the 1960s with the purpose that the government, officials, and the sitting monarch had a place to seek refuge in the event of a nuclear war. The bunker stands untouched and can be visited on guided tours – remember to buy a ticket in advance!
