Aalborg is overflowing with experiences that are ideal for children. Here are our suggestions for how to use 24 hours in Aalborg.

Give the whole family a good start to the day at Surdejsbageren, the sourdough bakery in the Theatre District. They have something for all ages – good coffee and tasty baked goods – and they even have child-friendly opening hours: Mon-Sat from 7:30 and Sun from 8:00.

So, burn off some energy in Aalborg Zoo or Klatreparken, where you can spend a few pleasant hours, before wandering off to Penny Lane to share your experiences over a salad, a sandwich and cakes.

The afternoon is the time for creativity at Fidus, where you can draw, paint, make jewellery and just about everything else – and all at Jutland prices. Supper options include Pincho Nation, the world’s first app restaurant, or Aalborg Streetfood in the sunshine by the water's edge.

After a hectic day, you can collapse into the soft cushions in the family room at the centrally located and family-friendly Kompas Hotel.
