Street art "Out in the Open" - SWED - Danmarksgade
In Danmarksgade, in the courtyard behind Kirk Gallery, there is a gable painting. The artist SWED is behind the work "Catharsis".
SWED is a French artist whose career as a muralist began in the late 1990s with graffiti. His work serves as a bridge between the street, people, and cultures. He draws his inspiration from the cradle of diversity, the arteries of the cities. His random encounters with others lead him first to a photographic work, then to the realization of a painting. His subjects simultaneously question the passage of time, the definition of beauty, and feelings.
The mural is part of Kirk Gallery's mural project "Out in the open," a non-profit project supported by foundations, private contributors, and sponsors. The project celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2023.
