What is a BMO?

BMO stands for ‘Bolle Med Ost’ (bun with cheese), and it’s exactly as simple as the name suggests. The special thing about it lies in the details: for some, it’s all about the perfect crispy and airy bun; for others, it’s a generous layer of butter or just the right slice of cheese.

Although the combination is simple, it’s well worth trying if you’d like to experience a small but distinctive part of Danish food culture.

Where can you get a BMO in Aalborg?

Aalborg is home to bakeries and cafés, each with their own take on the BMO. Some places stick to the classic version, whilst others put their own spin on it with special bread, jam, butter or cheese.
