THE LAST WALTZ
50th-anniversary tribute concert to The Band’s legendary concert in 1976.

Fifty years ago, The Band bid farewell to the stage with their legendary concert The Last Waltz in San Francisco – a moment that brought together the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Van Morrison and Eric Clapton on the same stage, and which has since gone down in music history as one of rock’s greatest highlights.
Now we can experience a re-enactment of the concert featuring some of Denmark’s most talented musicians at Kappelborg in Skagen!
The audience will have the chance to immerse themselves in classics such as The Weight, I Shall Be Released and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, performed with passion, authenticity and a joy of playing by a strong line-up of singers and musicians.
The concert was first staged in 2016, when it played to a completely sold-out house at the Gamle Scene at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. This is a testament to the timeless power and undeniable impact of the music. Ten years on, the 15-piece orchestra is reuniting to mark the anniversary.
Celebrating The Last Waltz is more than just a concert; it is a musical ritual, a tribute to some of rock’s greatest artists and a rare chance to relive one of the most magical evenings in music history.
THE TEAM BEHIND IT
The concert is presented by the team behind WOODSTOCK ’69 – A Tribute Concert (2019), The Art of Joy in Harmony (2022) and Joni Mitchell – A Tribute Concert (2023). All three have played to sold-out audiences at the Royal Theatre and toured throughout the country. The participating soloists and musicians include artists who, over the years, have played with the likes of Johnny Madsen, Poul Krebs, Peter Belli, Erik Clausen, Henning Stærk, Birthe Kjær and many, many more.
