The Christmas Riddle at Konsul Ørums Gård – family event in Sæby

The Christmas Riddle at Konsul Ørums Gård invites children and adults on a playful journey through the history of Christmas. Kystmuseet Sæby provides the setting for the experience, with the museum rooms transformed into a living game board filled with stories, challenges and clues. Along the way, you travel from the Christmas traditions of the Viking Age to the Christmas we know today.

Together with family or friends, you make your way through the many twists and turns of Christmas history. Along the route, you will meet historical characters who set you different challenges. Finding the right answers is only part of the experience. Taste, smell and touch also come into play as you examine the clues and work together to solve the Christmas puzzles.

A Christmas experience for children and adults

The Christmas Riddle is particularly suitable for families with children from around the age of six, while adults who enjoy puzzles and living history can join in too. The game lasts approximately one hour and combines historical storytelling with activities that allow both children and adults to take an active part.

Time slots at Kystmuseet Sæby

The event takes place on Saturday 5 December 2026 between 17:00 and 20:00. Tickets are sold for specific time slots to ensure plenty of space for everyone to move around and solve the challenges. If your ticket is for 17:00, for example, you can arrive between 17:00 and 17:30.
