Voer Church

Voer Church is a fascinating medieval church from 1150 and has a close connection to Voergaard Castle. Various owners of Voergaard have, after the 1400s, made significant alterations to the church, transforming it into one of Vendsyssel's most unique church buildings.

Ingeborg Skeel had noble chairs and a pulpit installed in 1604, depicting the life of a farmer through the year. In the beautiful chapel, you’ll find a large sandstone epitaph for Ingeborg Skeel and her husband, as well as memorial stones for her parents and brother.

The church also features a large painted tapestry (woven gobelin) from around 1820 depicting Peter’s fishing attire, and outside, you’ll find the gravestone of State and Foreign Minister Erik Scavenius on the south side of the church. There’s also a descent into a crypt under the choir and chapel at the church’s east end.

The church is always open, but check the daily activities on www.voer-agersted.dk.

Dorf Mill Courtyard

Dorf Mill Courtyard tells the story of life on a mill farm in the early 20th century.

In addition to the four-winged farm with its impressive architect-designed main house from 1925, the protected mill complex includes a watermill from the 1600s and a windmill from 1887. The mills ground grain until the mid-20th century. Additionally, the watermill was used to produce direct current for the farm until 1995.

The mill buildings are beautifully located by the scenic mill lake at the edge of Dronninglund Storskov. A picturesque route takes you from the mill courtyard around the entire mill lake. The tour ends where it began and can be perfectly rounded off with a visit to the cozy café at the mill courtyard, offering coffee, cake, or ice cream.

Dorf Mill Courtyard is open daily in June, July, and August.
