Jazz i verdensklasse: Kevin Hays

For several decades, Kevin Hays has been a prominent figure on the international jazz scene. As a pianist, composer and singer, he moves with rare ease between the sophisticated and the spontaneous – with melody, improvisation and musical interaction at the heart of his art.

Since his first releases on the legendary Blue Note Records, Hays has played with some of jazz’s biggest names, including Sonny Rollins, Roy Haynes, Joe Henderson, Joshua Redman and Chris Potter. More recently, he has worked closely with artists such as Brad Mehldau, Steve Gadd and Lionel Loueke.

He has performed at venues such as the Village Vanguard and Carnegie Hall in New York and toured as a pianist with singer-songwriter James Taylor. At Kunsten, the audience will get up close to a musician accustomed to the world’s greatest stages – within the museum’s more intimate setting.

Hays’ playing has also garnered praise from *The New Yorker*, which has highlighted his “melodic charms and sense of style”, whilst *The New York Times* described the experience in three words: “A jolt of joy.”

– Your standard ticket or student ticket grants access to the museum from 10.00. We do, of course, think you should arrive earlier to explore our exhibitions. With an annual pass, you always have free entry.
– Round off your evening with a visit to Brasserie Kunsten, which has just launched a new menu.
– Beer, wine, water, cake and snacks are available to buy at the Brasserie and are welcome to be enjoyed during your visit.
– Ticket purchases are only refundable in the event of cancellation.
