Introductory Art Course in Drawing – Draw your way into autumn – Course 2

Would you like to improve your drawing skills? Or perhaps you need a little nudge to put pen to paper for the first time?

On our drawing course, you’ll be introduced to the basics of drawing through four different workshops. Your tutor is the artist Inge Tranter, and she’ll guide you through:

✨ Basic drawing theory
✨ Practical techniques
✨ Seeing correctly – because drawing is very much an exercise in seeing
✨ A wealth of exercises that everyone can join in with

Throughout the course, we’ll also be experimenting with techniques such as quick strokes and smudging to broaden your understanding of what a drawing can be.

Throughout, Inge focuses on inspiring you to find creative ways to explore and play with your abilities – with an eye on the process rather than the finished result.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, already well on your way with drawing, or perhaps took part in the course in 2025, you’ll discover new techniques and develop your skills alongside Inge.

We’ll provide all the necessary materials – you just need to bring your curiosity and a desire to explore the art of drawing.

The four workshops will take place between October and November, and each session will focus on a new theme, allowing you to delve into the fundamental elements of drawing.

You’re always welcome to buy drinks or snacks from the Brasserie and enjoy them in the workshop. If you’re planning to round off one or more of the evenings with dinner at Brasserie Kunsten, we recommend that you book a table in advance.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
✨ The workshop is aimed at beginners and those with some drawing experience.
✨ You’re more than welcome to join us again if you’ve taken the course before. Inge makes sure everyone learns something new or gets the chance to improve their skills.
✨ All materials are included in the price, but you’re welcome to bring your own materials if you have any experiments in mind. You’ll, of course, get to keep the artwork you create during the course.
✨ Remember to wear practical clothes that can get dirty.
✨ We always start in the workshop on the ground floor.
✨ Beer, wine, water, cake and snacks are available to buy at Brasseriet and are welcome to be enjoyed in the workshop.
