Here, the classic, rustic campsite has been reimagined, drawing inspiration from the area’s geology and landscape. The result is an atmospheric shelter site where every detail has been crafted with respect for nature and with a focus on providing a wonderful experience.

Geotopen features two architect-designed shelters – Guldblomme and Engelsød – each with its own distinctive character. At Guldblomme, the etched glass panels face west, allowing you to enjoy the evening sun and the view of the undulating landscape. Engelsød opens out to the east, where the first rays of the morning sun create a peaceful and atmospheric start to the day.

The shelter site is equipped with campfire pits, a wood store, a composting toilet, a water tap (during the summer months) and covered tables and benches, providing an ideal setting for both a single overnight stay and a longer stay in the countryside. It is also possible to pitch a tent in the designated areas, and if the shelters are not booked, they can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

The geotope is situated directly on the Hærvejen walking route and close to the cycle route, making the shelter site an ideal stop for walkers, cyclists and others wishing to explore Jyske Ås at a leisurely pace. Take a stroll through the undulating landscape, explore the open heathland and enjoy the views from the area’s many natural vantage points.

Park your car on Østermarkvej, from where a short walk of around 450 metres takes you the final stretch through the countryside. The walk to the shelter site is part of the experience – and the reward awaits in the form of tranquillity, a sense of being at one with nature and a unique overnight stay in the heart of North Jutland’s countryside.
