Christmas music from Scandinavia and across the Atlantic

The programme combines familiar and lesser-known works and features music in several languages. Scandinavian Christmas songs meet well-known music from across the Atlantic, including Adam's Cantique de Noël and Foster's The Prayer. Opera, operetta and musical theatre also find a natural place in the beautiful church setting.

The concert explores the harmonies and stories that have formed part of Christmas music for generations. Sacred and secular repertoire come together in a programme centred on music, community and the distinctive atmosphere of December.

OperetteKompagniet and the performers

OperetteKompagniet has invited singers Vibeke Kristensen and Bo Kristian Jensen to take part in the Christmas concert. Norwegian singer Vibeke Kristensen and tenor Bo Kristian Jensen perform alongside Thomas Peter Koppel and pianist Irene Hasager. Together they present both sacred and secular works in the embracing acoustics of Den Svenske Sømandskirke.
