Getting started with cycling on the Hærvejen as a beginner
Would you like to get started hiking or cycling the Hærvejen but are unsure where to begin? Then read on—here you’ll find some helpful tips to guide you along the way.

A great experience
Many people find that hiking or cycling gives them new energy and a chance to unwind. However, it can still feel overwhelming to figure out what equipment to bring and how far to go. Fortunately, you don’t have to start with long, multi-day trips. You learn as you go and gain experience—whether you’ve packed too little, too much, or chosen a route that’s a bit too long. That’s completely normal and part of the experience, so enjoy the process—it can be both educational and fun.

Here are the best tips
As a beginner, it’s a good idea to start with shorter, well-marked routes. Remember to bring water and snacks, take breaks along the way, and check the weather forecast to ensure the best possible experience.
