Campsites in North Jutland with excellent facilities for campervan
At Enjoy North Jutland, we recommend that our guests with campervan make use of the many wonderful campsites in the area.
From Nibe along the Limfjord to Dokkedal and the Kattegat, there are lovely, well-located campsites, and you can even camp within cycling distance of Aalborg city centre. From Hals up along the Kattegat coast – and not least around Asaa, Sæby and Frederikshavn – there is a large selection of campsites. There are also campsites for campervan travellers in and around Skagen, including two excellent campsites right at Grenen – just as there is a large campsite in Skiveren on the west coast, located right by the dunes.
If you are looking for unique island experiences, there are two cosy campsites on Læsø. So whether you want to take your campervan to the coast, close to the water, inland close to forests and nature areas – or close to towns with shopping and city life – there are campsites with good facilities for campervan travellers everywhere.

You can see a complete overview or search as desired in our guide to campsites.

Travelling by campervan? Here are the rules
For those travelling by campervan, here is a brief summary of the main rules for camping and parking. Always pay attention to local signage, etc.
Unless otherwise stated on signs or in regulations, campervan are subject to the same rules that apply to motor vehicles in the area in question.
Campsites
You may camp, including setting up tables and benches, etc., and stay overnight at a campsite in the same way as other campers at the campsite.
Marinas
You may camp, including setting up tables and benches, etc., and stay overnight if it is a campsite. If it is a campsite at or adjacent to the marina, this will be clearly indicated by signs or other markings on the site.
As a campervan owner, you can park in areas near a marina as well as in other car parks, provided there are no signs prohibiting parking. The rules for parking are described in the section below on "Roads and parking areas in towns and urban areas."
Roads and parking areas in towns and urban areas
In towns and urban areas, you can drive and park your campervan on all roads as long as you comply with the general rules of the Road Traffic Act for driving and parking motor vehicles. It is also permitted to rest in the sleeping cabin of the campervan.
However, if there are specific rules for driving and parking in a particular location, you must comply with these. The rules may be set out in a local parking notice (drawn up by the road authority with the consent of the police), which you must be aware of, or through signage at the location.
Signs may, for example, specify the time during which parking is permitted or the type of vehicle. This means that if, for example, it is stated that parking is not permitted between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., this must be respected.
When parking a campervan or other motor vehicle, it is not permitted to set up tables and benches, barbecues, awnings, etc. without first obtaining permission from the road authority.
Green areas, e.g. beaches, forests, parks and other natural areas
Driving and parking motor vehicles on private communal roads in the countryside and on purely private roads is permitted, unless it is prohibited.
Like other motor vehicles, campervan are generally not allowed to drive or park on beaches, in forests and parks, at nature centres and similar locations, or in natural areas, unless motorised traffic is permitted.
However, motor vehicle use on beaches is permitted where it has been permitted since ancient times because the beach has been a public road. This applies, for example, at Vejers and Løkken and on Fanø.
When parking a campervan or other motor vehicle, it is not permitted to set up tables and benches, barbecues, awnings, roof hatches that enable overnight stays, etc., without permission, either through signage or other forms of permission from the landowner.
