Markets in and around Hou
Throughout the summer you can explore three different markets close to Hou. Here you'll find everything from fresh strawberries and homemade jam to second-hand toys and retro finds.
- Mondays in Hou
- Wednesdays in Hals
- Saturdays at Lagunen (at Hals Camping, approx. 2 km from Hou)


Flea markets and crafts
All year round you can go on a treasure hunt in "Baghuset" on Poppelvej 10 - a permanent flea market with a little of everything.
If you're into unique handicrafts and fine decorations, stop by Kongevejens Keramik or the shop at Galleri Hou - here you'll find handmade items and creative details for the home.

Hou Gallery

Hou Gallery offers a variety of exhibits, free entry, and a yearly art sale. At the gallery it is possible to buy unique souvenirs, made by the gallery's artists, to remind you of your trip to Northern Jutland. This is possible due to the art sale attached to the gallery.

The Wind Harp

The Wind Harp

By the end of the pier in Hou, where Nordstranden begins, a sculpture of a wind harp was erected in 1994. The sculpture was designed by Bjarne Jerup Høj and consists of two ship-halves from Hirtshals.

Hou Harbor Bath

Hou Harbor Bath is the perfect opportunity for a having a safe swim in the Kattegat! The bath is always open. You will find it by the end of the pier.

Hou Harbor

Hou Harbor faces the Kattegat straight on. The harbor was built in the 1940s, and a marina was made to annex it between the 1970s and the 1980s.
