Markets in and around Hou
Throughout the summer you can explore three different markets close to Hou. Here you'll find everything from fresh strawberries and homemade jam to second-hand toys and retro finds.

- Saturdays at Lagunen (at Hals Camping, approx. 2 km from Hou)

Flea markets and crafts
All year round you can go on a treasure hunt in "Baghuset" on Poppelvej 10 - a permanent flea market with a little of everything.
If you're into unique handicrafts and fine decorations, stop by Kongevejens Keramik or the shop at Galleri Hou - here you'll find handmade items and creative details for the home.

Hou Gallery

Hou Gallery is placed right in the middle of cozy, little Hou, in the main house of Hugdrupgaard, a farm from the 1500s. There is a variety of exhibits, as well as free entry, and a yearly art sale.

The Wind Harp

By the end of the pier in Hou, where Nordstranden begins, a sculpture of a wind harp was erected in 1994. The sculpture was designed by Bjarne Jerup Høj and consists of two ship-halves from Hirtshals.

Hou Harbor Bath

Hou Harbor Bath is the perfect opportunity for a having a safe swim in the Kattegat! The water is fresh and the bath is always open. You will find it by the end of the pier by Hou Marina in Hou town.

Hou Harbor

Hou Harbor faces the Kattegat straight on. It is a fishing village with a lovely view of the sea. The harbor was built in the 1940s, and a marina was made to annex it between the 1970s and the 1980s.
