Henning Jensen's Square and sculpture at Stigsborg is a heartfelt tribute from the childhood club in Nørresundby to Denmark's "Football Angel." Through Henning's adventurous and atypical career at major clubs such as Borussia Mönchengladbach, VFL, Real Madrid CF, AFC Ajax Amsterdam, AGF of 1880 – as well as the Danish national football team – he established himself as one of Denmark's greatest football players of all time!
When Henning Jensen's Square was inaugurated and Franco Turchi's bronze sculpture was unveiled on August 17, 2023, during a grand celebration with guests from near and far, Señor Jensen embodied fans and football enthusiasts. Morten Bruun, renowned football expert and analyst at TV 2, concluded the official speeches with a personal and touching tribute to the football legend from Nørresundby, saying: "When all else is forgotten, we will remember Henning Jensen for his wonderful talent and remarkable inner strength that created the greatest story of a Danish football player ever. Thank you, Henning Jensen, for everything you gave to all of us."
