Aalborg Zoo
Do the kids love lions, giraffes, zebras, polar bears, monkeys and maybe even snakes and bugs? Aalborg Zoo offers the ultimate experience if you are interested in animals - there are no less than 11 of the 12 most popular zoo animals, and as the only place in Denmark you can see the Bornean orangutan and the Asian lion.
Explore Aalborg Zoo and have some unique and ‘precious’ experiences together as a family in the park, which houses no less than 1,500 animals across 126 different species.

Two cultural lighthouses: Utzon and Kunsten
Culture with the kids can be an educational, fun and marvellous experience. Two cultural experiences not to be missed are Aalborg's two cultural lighthouses, Kunsten Museum of Modern Art and Utzon Centre.
Kunsten Museum of Modern Art was designed by world-famous architect Alvar Aalto in 1972 - and has just celebrated its 50th anniversary. Aalto is especially known for actively utilising light in all rooms - and this is very much something you notice as you move around the building, which houses both Danish and international art from the 20th century to the present day, but also many fun activities and experiences for the younger generation.
Centrally located on the waterfront in Aalborg, the Utzon Centre is the world-famous Jørn Utzon's very last work, which he created with his son, Kim Utzon, in 2008. Jørn Utzon is best known for being the architect of the Sydney Opera House. He grew up by the water in Aalborg, and the sea, the shipyard and the sailing ships in Aalborg were a crucial source of inspiration for him throughout his life.
At Utzon you will find the permanent exhibition about Jørn Utzon, but also a large number of changing exhibitions where it is possible to ‘meet’ some of the world's best architects - in a context where architecture is played with - making it tangible and understandable for all ages.

Nordsøen Oceanarium
Kom med ned under overfladen i Nordeuropas største akvarium i Hirtshals, Nordsøen Oceanarium, hvor der åbner sig en fabelagtig verden, som I sammen kan ”dykke ned i”.
Nordsøen Oceanarium byder på utallige muligheder for at opleve ”den ukendte verden” under havet. Her kan I kommet helt nær hajerne, se legesyge sæler og udforske stimevis af havdyr, både ude og inde. Og ikke mindst: opleve at fiskene og havdyrene blive fodret i det store oceanarium.

Fårup Sommerland
Fårup Sommerland is one of Denmark's largest theme parks and an eldorado for children and children at heart In Fårup you'll find more than 60 rides - from cosy activities for the little ones to the wildest roller coasters you can imagine - and a lot ‘in between’ In addition, the park offers a large outdoor water park with everything your heart desires.
In 2021, Fårup Sommerland was voted Europe's best amusement park in its category, and earlier in 2022, the park presented the tallest and fastest roller coaster to date, Phoenix Phoenix is a breathtaking ride that takes you up to a height of 40 metres and sends you flying at a top speed of almost 100 km/h. Lille Vildmose
Are you looking for unique outdoor experiences? Then take a closer look at Lille Vildmose - which is not so small after all. The 7,600-hectare area offers genuine Danish wilderness and magnificent nature with rich wildlife. A wealth of nature that is unique in a Danish context.
In addition to the fabulous nature experience, Lille Vildmose offers a large and exciting adventure universe for the whole family in the form of a cinema, exhibition, wild boar, nature playground, bog jumping pillow and eagle simulator. And if you're lucky, you might meet one of the moose in the area - an animal that is not a common sight in Danish nature.

Palmestranden
Palmestranden i Frederikshavn er en unik og eksotisk strandoplevelse, som bringer sydens stemning helt op i Nordjylland. Med ægte palmer, hvide sandstrande og blåt hav er det et skønt fristed for både familier, venner og par, der drømmer om en afslappende dag i solen – uden at skulle flyve sydpå.
Her kan I tage en dukkert i Kattegat, spille beachvolley i sandet, eller bare nyde en is i strandbaren, mens palmerne svajer i vinden. Der er også grillpladser og masser af plads til hygge og leg.
Palmestranden er gratis at besøge og åben for alle – hele sommeren. Den ligger tæt på centrum af Frederikshavn og er nem at komme til, både til fods, på cykel og i bil. Glem ikke solcremen og tag gerne strandstol og håndklæde med til en skøn dag i det nordjyske Caribien!

Kystmuseet Skagen
The Coastal Museum in Skagen is a combined open-air and exhibition museum with restored houses from three periods in Skagen's history.
The museum's main building has a number of special exhibitions on fishing, rescue services and seafaring - all of which provide an insight into Skagen's exciting history and the dramatic life along the coast. In addition, the various exhibitions offer lots of fun activities for children and a cosy museum café and museum shop.

Storhaven on Læsø
Are you on Læsø and looking for a rare holiday memory? Then take a closer look at the cosy ‘Storhaven på Læsø’, which is a visitor farm with lots of fun activities.
In the large garden, children can meet more than 20 different animals up close, including donkeys, kittens, lambs, peacocks, goats, rabbits, chickens and Shetland ponies. The farm also offers a beautiful farm shop with many local products and a cosy café.

Bisnap Strand
Approximately half an hour's drive from Aalborg and towards the Kattegat coast you will find the cosy holiday towns of Hou and Hals. In the immediate vicinity of these seaside resorts is the very child-friendly Bisnap beach, which has received a number of recognitions for its excellence. Among other things, it has previously been voted ‘Denmark's best beach’.
The beach in Bisnap offers smooth white sand, small lagoons and small islands where you can sunbathe. The beach is very child-friendly and shallow, and the coastline from Hou to Bisnap is actually six kilometres long, so it's not difficult to find your own little private oasis.

Springeren – maritime experience centre
Springeren, located along the harbour in Aalborg, is a maritime experience centre for both young and old.
The centre has both an indoor and an outdoor exhibition that offers many exciting maritime experiences. One of the main attractions is the submarine ‘Springeren’, which is a very well-preserved submarine - in fact the very last one in operation in Denmark.
