Transport options
Aalborg Airport is accredited through the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme. In addition, visitors can make use of public transport, cycling infrastructure and walkable city areas, with short distances between many hotels, venues and restaurants.
Certified facilities
Aalborg offers a wide range of hotels and restaurants, including properties certified under schemes such as Green Key and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. These certifications are based on specific criteria related to environmental management and operational practices.
Many local restaurants also work with initiatives such as seasonal ingredients, local produce, organic products and food waste reduction.
Certified conference venues
Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center (AKKC) was the first congress centre in Denmark to achieve certification under the ISO 20121 standard for event sustainability management and is also Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified.
The venue works systematically with management, operations and facilities within the framework of its certifications. With up to 500,000 annual visitors and around 1,000 events each year, AKKC is one of the largest conference and event venues in Scandinavia.
