
Vildmose Museum
The museum is a cultural and historical regional museum with varying special exhibitions, representing the history of the Great Wild Moor from “the Neolithic sea bed to arable land” by means of a moor and agriculture exhibition, presenting the evolution history of the Great Wild Moor, extension of the Great Wild Moor, the cutting of peat, the drainage and cultivation of big areas in the Great Wild Moor.
You can also see the machinery from the production of the famous potatoes from the Great Wild Moor, machinery from the production of peat and other former agricultural machinery.
You can also see examples of former craftsmanship such as wheel and coach builder, cooper, shoemaker, tailor, and brewery, presented in the form of small workshops.
The museum of the Great Wild Moor also presents arrangements where the museum is vitalized by means of folk dance, carriage rides, music from street singers, forging, wickerwork, exhibition of vintage motorbikes, as well as many involving activities for the visitors.See the homepage of the museum for more exiting arrangements such as Midsummer Eve festival, Christmas decoration activity day, etc.
