Experience the unique and magnificent Musikkens Hus (the House of Music)
Overlooking the Limfjord from Aalborg's waterfront you will find one of the city's architectural landmarks: Musikkens Hus. The wavy curves of the building are inspired by the water in the Limfjord. The house functions as a cultural gathering point for all of Northern Denmark, and it is the centre of a diverse spectrum of musical and cultural activities.
Host a reception in the spectacular foyer where you can sense the beautiful architectural details of the building. You can also host a gala dinner in the gourmet restaurant, Musikkens Spisehus. The restaurant is spread across two floors with a view of the Limfjord. The chef behind the food is the renowned star chef, Mikael Kopp Christensen from Northern Jutland, who is ready to treat you to simple, high quality courses, prepared with local produce.
If you are hosting a larger event, you can indulge in the wonderful meals in the fascinating surroundings of the upper foyer. Here, you can enjoy the view of the Limfjord, as well as the mirror installation by Jeppe Heins, Reflecting Frequencies – an impressing rotating piece in which reflections connect the upper and lower foyer.
If you wish, Musikkens Hus is happy to set up a stage for a musical performance or other kind of entertainment. They are also happy to help with finding the perfect musician or artist for your event, if you do not already have one in mind.
Give your guests an extra surprise with a tour of Musikkens Hus and learn about the building, its creation and the daily operations in the house.
Musikkens Hus is drawn by the internationally renowned Austrian architectural firm, COOP Himmelb(l)au, with inspiration from the architect le Corbusiers monastery La Tourette in France, combined with the soft shapes of the Limfjord.
Capacity: Up to 1200+ persons
The Foundation of Musikkens Hus is built around the fact that culture must be sustainable and contribute to creating both environmental and social change. To meet the environmental, the focus has been on reducing CO2 emissions, where in 2020 Musikkens Hus received the extensive DGNB certification in gold within the category “buildings in operation”, Musikkens Hus is the first concert hall in Denmark to become DGNB-certificated.
