Close to history
The town is named after Queen Charlotte Amalie, who acquired Dronninglund Castle, originally a nunnery, in 1690. Today, the castle is the setting for romantic castle stays, weddings and other large parties, exhibitions and other events. It is also possible to simply enjoy a fine dining experience in royal surroundings in the castle restaurant Prinsesse Sophie Hedvig.

Dorf Møllegaard
Dorf Mill The windmill in Dorf, was built in 1887, and was operated until the 1950’s. The windmill served as auxiliary turbine to a water-driven mill that already existed in 1664.

Pastor Laier Museum
The sculptures and paintings from Rev. Laier´s artistic period (1936-1966) are displayed in his old home. It all started with his much talked about concrete sculpture of Jesus on the cross followed by many bigger and smaller portrait sculptures of Grundtvig, Brorson, H. C. Andersen, etc.
